Children Toy Organisation Ideas

Children Toy Organisation Ideas

Nothing hurts more than stepping on Lego bricks while you’re walking around your homes! Kids can get messy while playing with their toys, and if not kept properly, there can be safety concerns. In today’s blog post, we will be showing you how to organise your children’s toys, such that it is neat and tidy! Get your kids involved in the cleaning process, to teach them a thing or two about being responsible for their own belongings.

1: Personalised Bucket

The first way to organise your children’s toys is to get a personalised bucket. Having a toy box for each of your children gives them more sentiment towards their toys, and they would feel more attached to it. With a personalised bucket, you can encourage your kids to clean up after themselves. Having their own toy box serves as responsibility for them to pick up after playing, as they need to be accountable for their own belongings. It also teaches them that there’s a place for everything!

Another tip: Play a simple game with your kids whereby the one who picks up the most toys gets a reward - You would see the toys cleaned up in no time. (P/S: We know the kids always win!) This fun cleaning-up activity would definitely make them more motivated to pick up after themselves since there’s a reward waiting for them.

2: Categorise & Label

Another way to organise your children’s toys would be to categorise and label all your toys! Categorise into the different types - soft toys, puzzles, books, lego blocks, to make organising easier. After they pick up all their toys, get them to sort the different toys into the respective translucent containers! This teaches them to sort and classify the different toys, learning what belongs to where.

By packing the toys in a translucent container with labels, your children can easily see the toys. This keeps them from pouring every single toy out just to find their favourite toy and creating a mountain of mess in the process. Zero mess while playing! Additionally, it will be such a pleasant sight to see when the guests come over - such a clean and neat display!

3: Display a few!

Instead of displaying all, get your children to pick their top 5 favourite soft toys, and display them in a clean and neat setting near their bedside. The displayed toys can be rotated monthly, and your child can have the freedom to choose their new favourites every month! This is a fun way to get them to organise their soft toys, and with the ability to make their own decisions, they would definitely feel more involved and feel important in the process!

The last tip to organising your children’s toys would be to just display a few of their favourite toys. We all know that children own waaaaaaay too many soft toys, and sometimes it occupies too much space on the bed, leaving no space for your child to sleep.
